Marseille Med EMPORION summit, pilot projects adopted
The Marseille summit on september 21st 2009 adopted the pilot projects to be developed during the MedEmporion Project and discussed about how to increase markets' social responsibility. Participants have stablisehd also the working methodologies of the 4 pilot projects.
How to increase the social responsibility of markets and market halls and better interact with the neighborhood in order to help a better life in their area? The Med EMPORION summit taking place in Marseille on September 21st has deepen into that by establishing the issues and the working methodologies of the 4 pilot projects planned for the Med EMPORION initiative.
The projects will start immediately and last for about two years. Every city is leading a different one, all of them devoted to increase markets relationship with their natural communities.
Pilot projects are an essential part of the Med EMPORION Project, an initiative funded by the European Commission through the MED Programme trying to study better the present challenges and opportunities for food markets in the Mediterranean area, and establish better links among them in a framework allowing the transfer of good practices.
